Anyone who knows me is undoubtedly aware of my passion for traveling and experiencing new cultures. I was bitten hard by the travel bug the summer of 2001, when I decided to spend a month in Africa, camping around South Africa and Tanzania. Ever since then, I have felt drawn to visit many different countries, mostly located in the developing world, and for some reason, I keep coming back to Africa.
Uganda Village Project (UVP) has provided the perfect opportunity for me to once again make my way back to sub-saharan Africa, but this time the experience will be different - living in a rural village and giving back through sustainable development volunteer work. I welcome the challenge!
This site will allow me to organize my thoughts during/post project and keep family and friends informed of my adventures, and who knows, maybe provide a reason for others to book a trip somewhere obscure. My advice: take the plunge.
The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.
